#YouAreSafeHereRN Campaign:

Make your patients feel safe with a simple sticker.

It is so, so important that our patients feel safe while receiving medical care. That is why New Thing Nurse partnered with Best Coast RN and Anna Alder from The Burnout Book to distribute Progressive Pride Flag badge stickers at AACN’s NTI 2022, to help foster safe care spaces across the United States. We want our patients to know that #youaresafeherern.

Nurse Staffing Think Tank & Task Force

In 2022, American Nurses Association (ANA), American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN), American Organization for Nursing Leadership (AONL), Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), and the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) created a nurse staffing think tank to find solutions to the nurse staffing shortage. The think tank brings together nurses, leaders, and other stakeholders.

The Nurse Staffing Task Force will be continuing the work of the Think Tank and for the next 9 months will be working to provide a forum for solutions driven discussion and input about workforce practice, policy, and work environment issues contributing to the nurse staffing crisis.

PPE CARE PACKAGE PROJECT

Organized to get respirator masks, surgical masks, eye protection, and other PPE to frontline clinicians during the 2020-2021 PPE shortage, a team of volunteers and donors collected funds and donated PPE to make this project a success. All proceeds of this effort went to finding, purchasing, and shipping PPE. The NTN PPE Care Package Project sent over 7,800+ PPE items to 240+ individuals and organizations in 37 states and Mexico.

RAISE YOUR HAND CAMPAIGN

& NO SILENCE ON ED VIOLENCE CAMPAIGN

The Raise Your Hand (RYH) Campaign was started in 2018 and had a mission to raise awareness, collect data, and provide insight into solutions regarding violence against healthcare workers that occurs in hospitals. The RYH Campaign later inspired the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) and American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) joint “No Silence on ED Violence” campaign that was created in 2019 with aims to support, empower and provide the resources their respective members need to effect safety improvements at their workplace, while engaging state and federal policymakers, stakeholder organizations and the public at large to generate action to address the problem.
